We, humans, have invented money in order to ease trading of goods but they are running our lives (at least in part). Some people will try to take advantage of you, but as long as you don't let them there are multiple beneficiaries for each transaction, even when you are not spending money for using a product or service.
Some companies will let you use some things for free, but this does not mean there are no costs: in exchange you will offer information about yourself, you will tell them what you like and what you are interested in, and that information can be used to sell you something. Companies such Google and Facebook are known for the platforms and services they are offering for free, but the aggregated information of several billion peoples allow them to target precisely the ads they are running through these platforms. That's why the privacy can be an illusion on internet, and only through education you can avoid the traps that are laid in front of you via the sensational offers that some people make.
For now we are not offering free products or services (we may offer such things sometime in the future), but the information you are filling in while using the applications we are developing will be available only to you (you can keep for yourself, you can make them public, you can share where and to whom you want).
And if you want to pledge for the developers of the 4Privacy app you can do it here (they are not connected to us but the app seems to be a good idea).
